International Conference on Chinese Language Education: Theories and Practice in the Study Abroad Context (ICCLE)

Beijing, July 15, 2006

The Associated Colleges in China (ACC) and Duke Study in China (DSIC) are pleased to announce the International Conference on Chinese Language Education: Theories and Practice in Study Abroad Context. The conference will take place in Beijing, China. Within the context of studying abroad in China, we ask "How can Chinese as a Second and Foreign Language (CSL/CFL) education be maximized through the synergy of research and practice from the collaboration of related fields?" and "How can we, the CSL/CFL professionals, fully realize the learning benefits of the sojourn experience?" To initiate and nourish dialogues across disciplines and settings, this conference aims to bring together practitioners and scholars to share research, theory and best practice. We plan to publish the conference proceedings.

This conference is a remark of the celebration on the 10 year anniversary of Associated Colleges in China (ACC) and the 25 year anniversary of Duke Study in China (DSIC).

Co-organizers: Carolyn Kunshan Lee, DSIC & Hong Gang Jin, ACC
