Commencement Weekend
Nobel Peace Prize winner Muhammad Yunus, a Bangladeshi banker/economist and champion of the poor, will deliver the commencement address at Duke University on May 16, 2010, the school announced Friday.
The Commencement Ceremony will also include remarks from a student, conferring of earned degrees, and other recognitions of honors and awards. The ceremony will be begin at 10:00 a.m. with the procession of students at 9:30 a.m. and will be concluded by 11:30 a.m., at which time the students will participate in their individual school or departmental diploma ceremonies.
Other major events of the weekend will include the Baccalaureate Services in Duke Chapel, the President's Reception in the Gardens, and the Duke University Alumni Association Commencement Celebration - one of the favorite events for families and students!
