WHAT'S AVAILABLE ON THE INTERNET

So the Internet supposedly offers rich resources just waiting to be claimed. But just what are these treasures and what attracts millions of otherwise sane people around the world to spend hours in a place that doesn't really exist? Everything that happens on the Net boils down to two things--communication and information. As our society becomes more information driven, the importance of the Net increases. The Net's dual offering of communication and information comes in the form of: e-mail, Usenet, WWW, Gopher, FTP, Telnet, and search indexes.
