Corinne Charity, T'10

Corinne Charity and is a junior from Chicago, IL.  She is a Psychology major and an Economics minor.  Post graduation, she hopes to work in the finance industry and has interned for two summers at Loop Capital Markets, a minority-owned investment bank headquartered in Chicago.

At Duke, her extracurriculars are all mentoring based. Corinne is the Vice President of Operation Snowball, a mentoring program with Durham 6th graders focused on promoting a healthy environment for middle school students by talking about pertinent issues such as peer pressure, bullying, time management, etc. She is the Classroom Head for the STEPS program which works with Seniors at a local Durham high school, aiding them with the college application and financial aid process, as well as assimilating to college life.  She also tutors fourth graders in writing with the Write Now program on a weekly basis and serves as a mentor for a Duke freshman in the Africana Mentoring Program, serving as an upperclassman role model. She has an older sister who attended Duke and in her spare time love to read.

To Corinne, the Reginaldo Howard Scholarship Program means family. Her fellow Reggies are a support system and a home away from home. She knows that whatever she needs, they will be there for her. It definitely eased her transition into college and has made her experience here so much better.
