WESLEY A.
KORT (1965) is a Professor in the Departmant of Religion and a member of the Graduate Faculty of Religion. He earned his Ph.D. from The University of Chicago and, before
coming to Duke, taught in the Department of Religion at Princeton
University. He specializes in religion and modern and contemporary culture with particular emphasis on the convergence of religion and literary studies. Recipient of the Richard K. Lublin teaching award in 2008, he offers undergraduate as well as graduate courses. He has served in various administrative positions, including Assistant Dean of the Graduate School and Associate Dean of Trinity College. He is the author of many articles and of nine books in his field. His most recent book is Place and Space in Modern Fiction (2004).
