so this is the website i have created to commemorate my fantastic summer of 2003 spent in Europe and doing study abroad in Italy. i know most of the pics are of me, but its my website, so that makes sense, right? hopefully everyone can get any pics they want from this. and hopefully all the people on the trip will look at this page and think back to all the fun we had. thanks

alright, i'm done. maybe one day i'll get them in a little better chronological order, but they're all up, and they're by city, and i've shrunk the file size so it should load more quickly, and everyone can be happy. enjoy

ROMA

myself, will, jenn, renee, brian, and devon hanging out in front of a burial mound. i think this was our first day trip.

jenn, clearly king of the mountain, or tomb.

this is the stone with Jesus's footprints in it, in a church along the Via Appia

Jenn doing her presentation, this ok?

Jenn and Alexis our last night out in Rome, and some other random guy

Another pic from our final night: Jenn, Anne, Christina, and random guy.

Michelangelo's La Pieta in St. Peter's.

Mike and I across the bridge from Castel St. Angelo. I'm not sure what's more intimidating, it or us.

not really a rome pic, but this is mike and i in the DC airport before leaving. one of many terrific pics i took of myself.

another pic from the way over, we're clearly ecstatic to be on a 10 hour plane ride.

We did get to see a lunar eclipse during our time on the plane. WooHoo!!

Mike and I at the Etruscan tomb site, beeeautiful country.

Mike and I in the Colosseum, obviously

Mike and I chucking valuable Euros into Trevvi Fountain to insure our safe return.

Mike, myself, Brian, and Alex enjoying a hearty lunch in Piazza Venezia.

Mike taking a close look at his favorite piece of art from the trip.

Mike proudly paying homage to his Italian heritage at the top of the Vittoria.

Renee sitting on Mike's lap in a tomb (insert creepy joke here).

Mike, Brian, myself, and Alex with our ladies. The lesson here, feed us and you get flowers, its that simple.

A grotto from the park just up the street from where we stayed (anyone remember the park's name?)

Everyone looks awfully happy to be at Ostia. Oh yeah, thats cause our free weekend started in a couple hours.

Anne, Anne, Jenn, myself, and Alexis anxiously awaiting the arrival of the Pope.

The Pope's in their somewhere. I swear.

It's the Pope...

it's the friggin' Pope.

This is the Rome airport, its 9:30 AM, we're drinking wine.
I dont think anyone ever knew we were tourists the whole time we were in Europe.

And people thought that the Roman Forum was impressive before we arrived.

This is the first bus ride, from the airport to the centro, we had no idea how much time we'd end up spending on these buses.

This is from the Vittoria in Piazza Venezia, it looks down Corso, one of the main streets (particularly for shopping) in Rome.

Eric, Jenn, and Mike up on top of Girabaldi (? on spelling) Point late one night. Good view of the city from here.

Most of the people on our trip were girls. Yeah, i dont know how i survived either. (just kidding)

Here I am in front of the 4 River fountain, this was my favorite fountain of the trip.

Jenn and I in the moutains where they filmed the Sound of Music.

This was in Trajan's Forum.

This was an impressive temple, until I showed up.

I'm standing by the middle column, just so you have an idea of the size.

The Fountain of Neptune in Piazza Navona.

Roma Baby!!

Ahh, good ol' Luigi Bartolucci one of my favorites.

I dont know why the dead needed chairs in their tombs, but they were surprisingly comfortable.

Here I am right in front of the Vatican.

Even the great sculptors in Rome couldnt make something this awe-inspiring.
