Duke Lutherans are students, freshmen to seniors, graduate and professional students, who come together through the week to worship, fellowship, and pray with one another. We are thus equipped by the Triune God to proclaim the Gosepl to the Duke community and, indeed, to the world, through witness and service.

Some words from Duke Lutherans:

The Lutheran Sunday evening service and home cooked dinners in the chapel basement have become a staple of my college life. What better path towards fellowship than to worship and dine with other undergrad Lutherans?

-- Geoff, Trinity '02

The most fulfilling part of Lutheran Campus Ministry for me is the fellowship with other students who share my beliefs. I really enjoyed gathering with them every Sunday for worship and then discussing our weeks over dinner.

-- Kristin, Pratt '04

Our hope is to:

  1. Come together weekly to worship the Lord.
  2. Pray for one another.
  3. Build up the Body of Christ through fellowship.
  4. Learn more about our faith through Bible studies.
  5. Discern our vocational calls from God.
  6. Proclaim the Gospel to everyone in our lives through word and deed.
  7. Grow in our discpleship.
  8. Serve the Lord with gladness!

Duke Lutheran Campus Ministry is a ministry of St. Paul's Lutheran Church. The vicar from St. Paul's coordinates the campus ministry. Local Lutheran pastors take turns performing the Eucharist at our services, and many Lutheran churches in the Triangle participate in providing weekly dinners.
