About the ACLU
Duke's chapter of the ACLU was established in the winter of 2003 in order to provide a voice for civil liberties issues on campus. Our primary work is through educating students about issues affecting civil liberties; some of the methods we use are panel discussions, discussion groups, and our new quarterly newsletter. When an issue arises on campus, we talk with administration and related groups to try to resolve any problems. For national issues, we urge students to stand up for their rights by attending rallies, writing to Congress and voting. We will do everything we can to support the cause of our constitutional rights.
