Funding: Graduate Students / Conference Travel Grants
APSI will provide travel grants to support graduate students to present at conferences or professional meetings. The funding will be available to both Master’s and doctoral students whose study focuses on East Asia. Doctoral students who have passed their prelims are eligible to apply to the Graduate School for travel support and thus should apply for that source of support. http://gradschool.duke.edu/documents/financial_support/conftrav.pdf
Maximum total travel award will be $700, which will take account of funds received from other Duke sources. Applications will be accepted until available funds for the year run out. Students are encouraged to apply as soon as they receive confirmation of their paper’s acceptance to the conference, and at least 30 days before the date of the conference. To apply, please send the following to Yan Li at email@example.com.
- a copy of the letter approving your panel participation at the professional meeting;
- a copy of the abstract of our paper to be presented;
- a simple budget, including costs of registration, travel, lodging and meals;
- information about other Duke funds received for this conference.
Travel grant recipients will be reimbursed after their conference, based on receipts.
