August 2010

Good news! After a few years of inactivity, the Duke Ballroom Dance Club (DBDC) is in the process of reapplying for recognition on campus.  We will be back officially very shortly!

In the meantime, we still want to give Duke students the opportunity to start ballroom dancing!  Be on the lookout for our updates on when and where our classes will be held.

Please email dukeballroom@gmail.com if you are interested in joining DBDC!  Our official listserv will be available when we are re-established. Feel free to contact us with any questions.

We are very excited to bring back this organization and reintroduce ballroom to the Duke community.  It’s a fun form of exercise and a great social experience.  We look forward to seeing you at our upcoming events!

About DBDC

Whether you are looking for casual lessons or competition opportunities, we offer classes for both.  No prior experience or partner is necessary.  We have no tryouts, so even if you think you have two left feet, we encourage you to come try dancing!

Anyone can learn to ballroom and Latin dance – the steps are straightforward and you’ll be surprised at how quickly you’ll pick them up. Our members have varying degrees of experience and there is never pressure to dance at a particular level.

Above all, we love ballroom and hope that you will too!
