ABOUT THE ARTIST

Hailing from Chicago, Lupe Fiasco is an award-winning rapper, influenced by the likes of Nas and Jay-Z.  He was first signed to Atlantic Records in 2004.  As Fiasco recorded his debut album, Food & Liquor, he caught the attention of fellow Chi-town rapper Kanye West and contributed a verse to West’s hit single, “Touch the Sky.”

In 2007, Fiasco released his sophomore album, The Cool.  From that record, “Superstar” was a commercial success, reaching the Top 10 on Billboard’s Hot 100.  Fiasco’s latest release, Lasers, debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 chart.  It includes the single “The Show Goes On,” which features a sample from Modest Mouse’s “Float On.”
