Resources for International Visiting Scholars

Duke University & Medical Center International Office - Provides information and assistance on: visas; travel to the U.S.; study, research and work options in the U.S.; international student and scholar statistics; and health care and patient services. Links to U.S. government sites such as the Dept. of State, U.S. embassies and consulates, and the INS.

International House - International House provides orientation and relocation services for foreign scholars and their families. Areas of assistance include: housing, transportation, schools/daycare, health insurance, spouses group, trips and activities.

Duke Law School Visiting Scholars & Researchers Program - designed to provide an opportunity for international scholars to pursue their own research interests at the Duke Law School. During 1999-2000, visitors came from Canada, England, Finland, Germany, Japan & Korea and included a judge, a prosecutor, an attorney, faculty members, & doctoral candidates.
