Of Lemurs and Men: Human-Induced Change and

the Fuzzies of Madagascar

Home Island Overview Lemur Overview Threats to Survival Conservation Sources Links

This site is dedicated to one of the
most endangered and extraordinary
animals on Earth: the lemurs of
Madagascar. Nowhere on Earth can you see these primate predecessors in the wild but in  Madagascar, and nowhere are these animals so well adapted to live. But, lemurs are no match for humans with agriculture and industry. From the current threat of intense deforestation and the future uncertainty of climate change, lemurs have been pushed to the brink of extinction.
