A: You believe that online dating and traditional dating have big differences. But, do you think these changes have advantages or disadvantages.
B: I think they have advantages and disadvantages, right?
C: right.
A: I think usually, everybody thinks that Chinese culture is very traditional, can you talk a little about in recent years, what changes occurred in the area of dating, especially online dating?
B: I believe, that first of all internet is another kind of media. It is aside from tv and newspaper, a third or fourth media.
C: very advanced.
B: It has given more opportunities for young people to meet and know each other. Also through internet, for example in real life, when we are at the point of looking for a boyfriend or a girlfriend, there are families or co-workers to help introducing. But I think because of these setting ups, they usually take into account, the introducer will think about many factors. Such as family background, education, height and looks. So I think this way there are a lot of outside forces involved.
C: I agree completely with her views, because with traditional ways of finding a date, your family will think a lot about objective factors, such as family status, economic situation and such.
B: height, education, looks...
C: right, height, education, these things are what we heard, it maybe a little materialistic in such fashion, but on the internet, perhaps it is coincidence that you two meet. You talk very deeply about some things. So it is fate that put you two together.
B: it is a feeling.
C: yes, with feeling. So I think online there are more emotional aspect involved, but realistically, traditional ways are ways to find marriage, so there are more rational considerations.
