A: Can you tell us a little about this street's history and its changes?
B: Wangfujin Avenue, it is named after a historical well. Then around Qin dynasty, it has become a commercial street, but it was very narrow then, and the houses along the side are very low, very old. From the ‘90s Beijing started a joint investment with Hongkong to start renovate this street, to become a walking only street. That means that no bicycle is allowed. Because there is too many bicycles in Beijing, many bicycles means a lot of chaos. So they don't allow bicycles, only few government chosen public buses are allowed on this street. I think this is on par with international examples. Because in foreign countries, you can see that there are cafes and flowers along side the street. I think that China is becoming more modern, more progressive, more international. I think they are more near the international standard.
A: Right, so does also brings in many famous brand names into China?
B: yes, that is true, many brand names are brought in, they also brought in some foreign management techniques and basia facilities, and a lot of hardware. I think now they are always learning from outside the country.
A: so like this, does this competition bring a lot of changes in the market?
B: mm, very big changes, first is in the aspect of service, also in energy, I think there are a lot of changes.
